MTV World Stage Live In Malaysia – Brace Yourself for The Music!

Aug 15, 2009 – Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia:

Pumped-up mosh-pitters, check. A spanking cool venue at the heart of Kuala Lumpur, check. Awesome music from an awesome line-up, check. As the finishing touches were added to MTV’s first originally produced World Stage event, VJs Utt, Denise, Taya, Sean (MTV Korea) and Andy (MTV China) kicked things off at a press conference this afternoon to celebrate the lead up to tonight’s historic music event.

Kasabian, The All-American Rejects, Hoobastank, Boys Like Girls, Raygun, Pixie Lott and Estranged brought the megawatt star power as they engaged in cheeky banter with the VJs, whetting the appetites of all present for the mega music bash to come.

Estranged’s Rich said, “We’re really excited; to represent our home country, Malaysia, is just a great feeling. We’re gonna be out there to perform so that everybody knows that Malaysian bands are good too.”

Raygun

Raygun’s lead vocalist, Ray was equally psyched. “I feel very privileged to be playing the first [World Stage] that you’re doing. The venue is unique. I think that makes it even more special. There’s a great lineup as well. You’ve managed to get some amazing bands, and we just feel honored to be part of that.”

2AM

Korean boy band 2AM ramped up the eyecandy factor (hello boys!) as they wowed everyone with a short a-capella session, which came hot on the heels of VJ Sean’s remark about them being the Korean version of Boyz II Men. They were revealed as the band who would play at the post-party.

Network executives and sponsors were also in tow, as MTV World Stage Live In Malaysia marks one of many firsts. “Tonight marks a historic occasion not just for MTV Asia, but for MTV worldwide,” said Indra Suharjono, Executive Vice President/Managing Director, MTV Networks Southeast Asia and Greater China. “To produce the first original MTV World Stage event is significant on many levels, and I’m delighted to share this amazing night with the performers, our sponsors, 15,000 excited fans and, of course, MTV viewers all over the globe."

One thing i hate is, why they revealed 2AM as the post-party performer on the event day itself? They should do it wayyyyyyyyy earlier! I've missed out their performance, DANG!

Yesterday was insanely awesome. Rushing to sunway lagoon after school, started to queue at the main entrance. It was hella hot, we were burning. The gate opened at 3.30pm, after bag check and handed in our tix, and we RAN! We ran all the way to the surf beach to get a good spot, I was in the first row of red zone, right in the middle of the stage, woohoo! The crowd was getting bigger, but oh no it was raining! we had the wet weather wear on given by MTV crew, and waiting for the show to start. It was a long wait!

For god's sake, the rain stopped when the show started. Our very own Estranged kicked off the show. The crowd was going crazy man, there was a bunch of malay boys behind were pushing. We, the people in front row were banged to the barricades which separated us from the mosh pits. Hello we are here to enjoy the show, stop fucking pushing! They acted like they never been to a gig before =.= The gate almost broke open due to the strong force from behind, the security were all hold against it and brought some ropes to tie it up.

Estranged rocked the show well. The atmosphere was going insane. VJs from MTV gave us a hint on the next act : band from Boston. Once i heard Boston, i know who are next, Boys Like Girls duhhhhhhhh! My friend and i screamed our lungs out for BLG. The boys played their latest single Love Drunk, followed by Hero/Heroine, Thunder (I LOVE IT!) and The Great Escape. Everyone was singing along to their songs, jumping, screaming, hands up, rock n roll! Party Marty even climbed up the pole! It was wild :D

I've hurt my throat for screaming too hard. The boys thrown guitar picks, drum sticks, towels and water bottle to the crowd, but i was too far away to catch it :( Martin went down to the most pits and shook hands with fans. After BLG's 4 short and sweet songs, we had a short break. Raygun was next. Their songs are danceable, i was enjoying their performance :)

The crowd in red zone was TOO packed! some people were not feeling well, and they need to get their ass out. There was one girl beside me, i thought she was pushing me to go more front, but when i looked at her, god her face was pale and her eyes were half closed, she FAINTED down! We all helped the security to get her out from the crowd. People yelling for water and fresh air. Thank god i am healthy and strong, i was fine all night long and ready for party.

I was looking forward for Pixie Lott, her music is pretty good, and I was having fun dancing to her songs. Unfortunately i have to leave early, i was hoping The All American Rejects will come out after Pixie, so i will leave after AAR performed. After a long break Hoobastank came out, damn i gotta leave. I missed AAR, missed the fun where everyone yelling "give you hell" :(

It was a major bummer. Anyway i've enjoyed the gig so far, i am satisfied with it, even though my legs hurts after standing up for so long. I am proud to be a part of this event, the first ever live world stage here in Malaysia!

2NE1 pronounced "to anyone" or "twenty-one" stands for “New Evolution of the 21st Century”. First appeared with Big Bang on "Lollipop" on March 27, 2009. Their debut single "Fire" was released as planned on May 6, with two versions of the music video — a "space" version and a "street" version.

What a cool outfits! I just love CL's sunnies :D

The group released their first mini-album with a total of 7 songs on July 8, 2009. You can see a totally different side and image of 2NE1, since "I Don't Care" is a reggae R&B ballad, which is my fav song as well!

Oh did i told you that the youngest member Minzy is only 15 years-old? hehe looking forward for more 2NE1 stuff!

F.T.Island

F.T. Island is a Korean band. The name F.T. Island stands for 'Five Treasure Island', each of the five members being a treasure. Their age rage are between 19-17, gosh 2 members are younger than me!

An unprecedented first in Asia, MTV World Stage makes its event debut in Malaysia come August 15 at the Sunway Lagoon Resort Surf Beach, head-starting MTV’s global circuit of specially produced music events.

MTV World Stage Live In Malaysia will kick off with a bang outdoors at Sunway Lagoon Resort where the world’s largest man-made Surf Beach will be completely drained dry to house an expected turn-out of 20,000 audience number.

Big Bang is a Korean musical group made up of five members, performing both vocals and rap styles. Big Bang's music style can be classified for the most part as hip pop music (as seen with the songs "La, La, La" and "Goodbye Baby"), with a little vibe of R&B (as seen with the songs "We Belong Together" and "Forever With You"), dance ("Shake It") and mainstream ("This Love") music. Rock with "Oh My Friend". Finally, becoming the greatest hit songs of 2007, (as seen with the songs "Lies", "Last Farewell", and "Haru Haru (Day By Day)") electronica is seemingly becoming the new music trend in Korea. However, the members have branched out into different genres in their solo work, including singing ballads and mainstream pop music.

Like what i've said before, i'm not a big fan of hip hop/electronica music, and they've proved me that genre of music is not bad at all. I've started gaining interest in electronica music after listened to their songs. Other than "Last Farewell", i LOVE this one!

They collaborated with 2NE1, a new girl group from their entertainment company, for the song "Lollipop". At first i can't really accept this song, but after listened to it a few times, it's quite nice i said.

They sing really well in english!

BUKIT JALIL: Loud supporters, colourful banners, catchy cheers and bold cheerleaders brought the house down at the Cheer 2009 national finals in Putra Indoor Stadium here.

The crowd went wild when team Blitzerz from SMK Bandar Utama Damansara (4), Petaling Jaya, made history of sorts when it was crowned champion. In Cheer’s 10-year history, only four other schools had ever won the title.

Super Junior-Happy is the fourth official sub-unit of Super Junior, contains six Super Junior members: Leeteuk (the leader), Yesung, Kang-in, Shindong, Sungmin, and Eunhyuk. Super Junior-Happy's music style involves the common style of contemporary dance music and bubblegum pop, mainly targeting the music industry with their fun and entertaining style. My mood is getting better and better when i listen to their songs, and these boys are funny and adorable :D

Pajama Party is the second track off Super Junior Happy mini album and offers a fun pajama party concept for the summer.

My fav "Good Luck!!" is a medium-tempo ballad with vocal harmonization, which also includes a brief a cappella performance by the members.

Fly Daddy Fly!

Finally the mid-term exams had finished today!! First thing i did once i got home today was watching "Fly Daddy Fly" starring Lee Jun Ki and Lee Mun Shik. OMG Junki oppa is so cool!

An ordinary businessman in his forties, JANG Ga-pil returns home one day to find his daughter sexually molested by some schoolboys, including school boxing star KANG Tae-wook. Realizing that he has no background and money to fight back, he plans to stab KANG on the way to school. This fails miserably, but another student named GO Seung-suk agrees to teach Ga-pil to fight – in only 45 days.

Lee Mun Shik is also appearing in the drama "Iljimae" as Jun Ki's foster father. He's a really good actor!

He is always holding a book and didn't talk much in the movie.

Woohoo watched this movie "Virgin Snow" on friday after school. A beautiful love story, a bit touching, and i love it :D

Min, a Korean boy, moves to Japan with his father who is a potter. One day at a local shrine, he meets Nanae, a beautiful Japanese girl with stunning eyes who is aspiring to be a painter. Min falls in love at first sight and finds out that Nanae attends the school to which he has just transferred. Their friendship develops fast despite their cultural and language difference. Yet when Min's grandmother suddenly falls ill, Min hastily returns to Korea without having the time to explain Nanae the situation. After his grandmother regains her health, Min hurries back to Japan but Nanae is nowhere to be found. Had his true feelings for Nanae not been apparent to her? China Blocks Twitter (And Almost Everything Else)

It seems that as of today, the Chinese authorities have blocked internet access to Twitter, Flickr, Bing, Live.com, Hotmail.com and several other sites. Wordpress, YouTube, Blogger are also blocked.

According to early reports on Twitter and on blogs it seems that the Chinese authorities want to quiet down the entire major social networking and social media part of the web ahead of the 20th anniversary of Tiananmen massacre on June 4th.

I sketched the relationship map between the main characters of the drama "Iljimae" in classroom. Even though the words are too small to be seen, you still can see a lot of arrows going here and there, showing how the characters are related to each others. Their relation are so complicated, but that's the attracting point of the drama :D

My friends are complaining that my blog is so lack due to the previous layout. Took 2 days to change it (Opps didn't really do my revision for exams on next wednesday)
And Whoala! The Iljimae layout, a lot of html works though.

I finished the whole drama on youtube on Tuesday, 19th. I can't really understand the ending, i mean i'm not sure is Iljimae still alive. If he’s still alive, why don’t he lives with his mothers? no one excepts his friends know Ryung=Iljimae, he can live on using the Ryung status. But everyone keeps telling me that he's still alive, why nobody agree with me? Well when Sa Cheon, chief assassin of the King attacked Iljimae from the back, I yelled:"Damn You!"

In my opinion Iljimae is dead.I cried, duhhhhh!, but not as crazy as when his foster dad, Swe Dol die. This is because i can guess the ending-there's always two type of ending: living happily or die. Plus my spoiler friend told me the ending before i watch it. Dangggggg! it ruined everything :(

Anyway this is the best Korean drama i ever watched. I'm going to watch it over and over again! hmmmm after my public exams of course. Lol

I'm a 42% Asian, and watching Korean drama is included in this 42%. LOL. I don't watch all Korean drama, it depends on the storyline actually. I have to admit that recently I am addicted to this drama "Iljimae" starring Lee Jun Ki. I like the story, sometimes breathtaking, sometimes funny, kinda romantic, and it can brings tears!

On a night when the apricot tree blossoms were in full bloom, young Geom witnessed the death of his father. The black emblem engraved on the sword shone under the moonlight... His father’s blood was splattered on the apricot tree blossoms... After that night, Geom’s life became a wretched existence. He changed his name to Yong, living as a beggar in the city streets.

One day, Yong (actor Lee Jun Ki) remembered his past when he was being chased by a group 13 years ago (1644. 22nd year of King In-jo’s reign). Thoughts of revenge didn’t occur to him. His dreams were to be reunited with his mother and sister, recover his family home, and live with his family again. But when he finally met his sister again, she was executed in front of him. Revenge was all he wanted after that. Yong has a tattoo of the black emblem, which he saw on the sword that killed his father, engraved on his chest.

With the skills he learned from his foster father, who was a small-time thief, he obtained information from the nobles by committing his first break-in. But he left behind a red apricot tree blossom by accident. When the officials found this evidence, people began calling him the “Iljimae” robber. Yong discovered the existence of a secret list, with the names of all the members of the secret Chunwoo Association while slipping into a nobleman’s home in search of the sword with the black emblem. Yong recalled that his father was a member of the secret Chunwoo association. He then decided to use Eun-chae (actress Han Hyo-ju) to obtain the full list. Under his meticulous plan, Iljimae approached Eun-chae. Eun-chae fell into love with Iljimae and the feelings became mutual but he kept his focus on getting revenge and holding back on telling the truth to Eun-chae.

The royal court was deploying all their forces to capture Iljimae. Shi-hoo (actor Park Shi-hoo) failed to capture Iljimae twice during a stakeout. But Iljimae suffered a deep gash from Shi-hoo’s sword. Bong-soon (actress Lee Young-ae) discovered Yong lying half-unconscious from his wound and she took him to her foster father Gonggal, who saves Yong’s life. After learning that Yong is Iljimae, Gonggal became Yong’s martial arts teacher. The stories of various incidents involving Iljimae spread among the people who began to revere him as the hero of the commoners. Iljimae robbed more noblemen to the delight of the people!

Sometimes, Iljimae fought like Zorro, or used his brains like MacGyver... Royal palace prosecutor Shi-hoo became obsessed with catching Iljimae. King In-jo felt threaten by the growing reputation of Iljimae as the king of the commoners and wanted him captured at all cost.

Mysterious deaths kept occurring after the death of his father. Small nail scratches are found on the dead bodies that keep turning up. The shocking truth emerged... Who wielded the sword with the black emblem? Iljimae then bravely embarked on his final mission!

I received the following, humbling email today, which I think says more than I ever could about the power of words and the strength of the human character, so I'll just print it here and make no further comment.

I am sixteen years old and I live in Monterrey, Mexico. I became a cocaine addict at the age of thriteen, actually a little while after I began reading the saga of Darren Shan. My interest piqued, but then I got involved in other issues and dropped my healthy habits, reading among them. Last year, however, I picked up where I had left off, at book six. I continued the series all the way until Sons of Destiny, which I finished about six months ago. I remember that night perfectly. I had gone two days without any drugs, and I was starting to feel the telltale "itch" of needing more to keep my body going. I began reading the book at around 8 at night and was finished at 11, surrounded by damp Kleenexes and my old stuffed animals. I have been clean since that day.

Your books truly made an impact on my life. I come from a strict Roman Catholic family who has constantly instilled in me the all-knowing, all-powerful sense of God. When I first realized how addicted I was to cocaine, I thought to myself, alright, everything happens for a reason and you were meant to become an addict. This was God's plan for you. Then, even when I stopped believing in God, it became more of an excuse than an explanation. Reading the conclusion to your series truly made me realize that our lives are in our own hands. The fact that Darren was able to turn around and change his fate, with the help of his friends, made me realize that I could, rather, would change around my own fate. I told my parents about my problem, got myself checked into a clinic, and leaned on close friends and family for support. I have had a lot of things happen to me since then- my parents' divorce, my boyfriend's death- and often I feel as though cocaine will heal me again. But then I remember Darren Shan, Mr. Desmond Tiny, Evanna, Mr. Hibernius Tall, Vancha March, and the Steve Leopard I could potentially turn into.

Mr Shan, I just wanted to thank you. I've never met you and probably never will in this lifetime, but I hope I get a chance to meet you in Paradise or Heaven or Nirvana or whatever awaits us after we pass on so that I can thank you in person. You saved my life, and I can never repay you for what you have done for me. I understand you are a very busy man and you will not have time to answer this, but I just wanted to let you know.

It's amazing how his books inspired people and changed this person's life. His books are absolutely amazing and made me addicted to it very much :)

When You Throw A Bra On All Time Low's Stage ...

When you stash a message in a bottle and toss it into the sea, you're hoping against hope for a rescue. When you throw a bra scrawled over with a phone number on stage at an All Time Low concert, you probably don't expect that it will end up in the hands of the staff at Buzznet.com.

This is one of those only-on-Buzznet stories. Last Friday, Buzznet member Falloutfy brought to the Buzznet offices a tan bra size 30A retrieved from All Time Low's recent gig in San Jose. The intent of the bra toss seemed fairly clear: the words 'All Time Low' were written in green sharpie on each cup. On the back was a phone number.

You can guess what we did next. This phone number led us into conversation with the original thrower, Carly — already a Buzznet member, surprise surprise — aka Lasrin. Turns out she's fabulous. She explains the whole crazy affair below:

Carly: It was actually my ten year old sisters bra that didn't fit her anymore. I asked my mom if I could throw it on stage and she said I could. I threw it as soon as they came on, but I got hit by a crowd surfer and actually missed the stage. Alas, I thought my bra was done for. As they played, a few more bras were thrown on stage and I actually completely forgot about it due to the fact that Alex jumped right into the crowd in front of me.

Buzznet: If you could have three more bands catch your bra who would they be?

Carly: Fall Out Boy. They are so inspirational ad even though they have some haters they are so chill and let it all roll off their back. Cobra Starship. I actually threw a bra at the exact same concert to them and Vicky-T put it on her mic stand. Gabe then pointed it out when singing. Forever The Sickest Kids. I've seen them live three times now and each time I am still blown away by how nice and down to earth they are.

Buzznet: Your digital artwork is unbelievable. What is the inspiration behind doing your artwork?

Carly: Well actually the first thing I ever got singed was a doll I had sewn for Gabe Saporta. It was a doll of himself actually. He loved it so much he asked me to make one for him and then put a the picture of it on their myspace. I really never took any art or sewing classes and apart from and Aunt of mine whom I never really see I have no one too artsy in my family.

Here is a picture of him holiding it. I also made similar dolls for The Academy Is... and Panic At The Disco. Panic actually used them for their Christmas card this year.

Buzznet: What is your favorite drawing you have done of a band?

Carly: "I have done so many drawings (consists of not limted to) All Time Low, Family Force 5, The Maine, Cobra Starship, Metro Station, The Academy Is..., The Cab, 30H!3 and Fall Out Boy. Most of my drawings I don't color (just black and white with pencil), because there are so many people in the band. However, coloring (with prisma colored pencils) is my favorite part, so I think my favorite band drawing would have to be the one I did of 30H!3. I gave a copy to Sean Foreman last year and recently saw him again and he told me it is still taped to the mirror on their bus."

Buzznet: What brought you to Buzznet in the first place?

Carly: The original reason I joined Buzznet was to submit a contest entry for a Panic At The Disco contest. I figured I had already drawn a doodle, so why not submit it ... (my entry).

Buzznet: What is with the name Lasrin - your profile name on Buzznet and Deviant Art?

Carly: I was very bored one day. I think I might have been on a plane or something and I wrote my real name on a paper, cut all the letters apart, rearranged them and came up with the name Lasrin Chueolo Dync. I thought it had a nice ring to it and figured I should use it for something!

Buzznet: What are three things we should know about you?

Carly: 1) The first time I ever got in contact witha band was because I had entered a Cobra Starship myspace promo contest and made my prom dress out of duct tape. They put my picture in their probl album on myspace.

2) I would love to meet Fall Out Boy one day. They were the first band I ever really liked and listed to serioussly.

3) Most people don't believe I am actually 18. On my 18th birthday I drove to a 7Eleven to get a lotto ticket and when I walked in I bought a candy bar and asked for a ticket. The man looked at me and said NO. I laughed, thinking he was joking and asked him why? He told me that I was not 18. I then pulled out my driver's license and ID to confirm I was 18. He looked and saw it was my brithday. He then still said NO. I pointed to my car outside which had been decorated for my birthday and told him I was not lying. He told me to come back tomorrow. The end.

Archie Update 4 (Part 1)

11th April, 4th day in Malaysia

I arrived at the entrance of Elephant Walk around 10am. It was already a long queue! From what i heard, the 1st people in the queue came out around 8am. I wanted to be earlier too, til i was there, there were already 50+ peeps! Gahhhhh. Hot sun. And i was sweating my ass off. Luckily Team Archie were giving out Archie Fans :D

While waiting for Carmen and Sylvia, I saw Hitz.fm's truck and a car driving into the theatre. If i'm not mistaken, it was David went for soundcheck. After Carmen, Sylvia and Lydia arrived, we managed to find Syira and Fieka. They were quite in front, we joined their queue. The gate opened around 12.15pm, after bag check, and watching they tore our tix (Ouch!) we RAN! Ran to the theatre to get good seats. Man the road was longggggggggg and we managed to get the 6th row after VIP seat. Right in the middle but kinda far.

I was surprised when saw some schoolmates did make it to the showcase. We got in and waiting for the show to start at 3. The theatre was fully packed with fans. Maybe 6000+. And they were screaming non-stop before the show started. We'd better save our energy for Archie.

The show started around 3.30pm with opening act like Hou Ren (Astro Talent Quest runner-up), Alif Satar (One in a Million finalist) and Daniel Lee (Malaysian Idol champ). We just can't wait for them to finish! Lmao.

Finally David came out *screaming*. We can't stick our butt to the chair anymore. All fans were standing up, screaming, waving banners and etc. He kicked the show off with "A Little Too Not Over You". He's really sweet. He waved to the fans and made us went crazy! And did a little jumping during "Touch My Hand" and "Don't Let Go". The crowd were oh-so high. The screaming sounds almost covered his voice! Insane Arch Angels :D He played for only 30+ minutes if i'm not wrong. Too bad it was over :(

Owhhhh you know what? He stayed after the showcase and met the fans! OMG i shouldn't left so early :/

I have a deal with my facebook buddy Karina from Indonesia. She's the member of AAM (Archuleta Avenue Malaysia) and she won a tix for Archie's showcase in Msia. She wanna bring her friend along, so she asked me to help her buy 2 albums and i can keep one tix for the show :D

We can start buying the album with limited edition booklet and showcase passes on 2nd April. I called Rock Corner on 1st April and they told me they are not sure about this ticket thingy, and want me to call them back on 2nd April, at 5 evening! wtf. I still went to the stores after school and found that they have the tickets and limited booklet. I grabbed one and went to ask is the tix available. When i turned back to grab the second one, some malay dude took it!

Yes I really do. Did i mentioned that Captain did asked me to join back squad and go for competition? I turned it down because I have public exam this year end, and I need to pay RM800+ for the uniform, coach fees and other stuff. I wish i can join back because I really love cheer leading. awwwwww I'm so sorry :(

Anyway, Calyx, my school's cheer leading team went for Charm Cheerleading Championships 2009 and won champion for all girls stunts division (national) and 1st runner-up for all girls stunts division (international).Congrats girls!!

In August 2005, The Click Five was preparing for world domination. The band's first single, "Just the Girl," was a smash. While the camera-ready quintet perfected their harmonies and their autographs in a Somerville practice space, Click Five lunchboxes, backpacks, trading cards, and hair gel lines were being shipped to stores.

Conceived in a Cambridge manager's office, cast at a Berklee College of Music showcase, and signed to a major recording contract within a month of making its first demo tape, Boston's Click Five was launched into the pop-music stratosphere with the full force of the industry's muscle behind it.

Then the band fell back to earth.

"There was a point where it felt like we were in an airplane and the engines just died," says bassist Ethan Mentzer. "It was a long, slow glide down."

Tonight - one lead singer, two albums, and 3 1/2 shellshocked years later - The Click Five begins a monthlong residency at the Lizard Lounge, a basement club in Cambridge where 100 is a crowd.

This is the story of a career conducted in reverse. It begins on MTV and progresses to tiny nightclubs. It features five young men who started out as stars and now are learning how to be a band.

The Click Five saga is also a cautionary tale about the promise and perils of putting faith in the music industry's star-making machine. Mentzer, guitarist Joe Guese, keyboardist Ben Romans, drummer Joey Zehr, and lead singer Eric Dill (replaced in 2007 by Kyle Patrick) signed on for a concept - a prefab boy band whose members could move in unison and actually play their instruments. It was a risky strategy.

"You get one shot, then the label is on to the next thing," says Wayne Sharp, The Click Five's manager.

The Click Five is on to the next thing, too - everywhere except in eight Asian-Pacific countries, where they have toured four times in the past three years, have saturated radio and television, and are bona fide celebrities. Closer to home, members of the band are going back to basics: writing and recording an album on their own and working out new material for small audiences. Instead, 2005's "Greetings From Imrie House," a bubbly collection co-written with veteran collaborators and named after the street in Allston where the guys lived as students, received the sort of splashy rollout and instant reaction - the album sold 350,000 copies in the United States alone - that made success seem a virtual certainty.

"I see screaming girls in their future. I see them having to wear disguises," Amy Doyle, MTV vice president, said at the time.

The Click Five wound up with the proverbial 15 minutes rather than the blockbuster careers they had been led to expect. Still, Cambodian children know all the words to their songs, and the group's far-flung sales have made it possible to keep going without day jobs and self-finance a new record. On the other hand, The Click Five's future is a complete blank. After 2007's "Modern Minds and Pastimes" was released to lackluster response (US sales stalled at 50,000), the band was dropped from its deal.

"Everything happened so quickly you think 'This is just going to keep going,' and it didn't," says Guese. "At the same time we're still feeling it. I guess this is a chance to reintroduce ourselves."That's not as easy as it sounds. Not only has The Click Five had to develop a sound and an identity beyond the boy-band script, but its members are burdened with the formidable challenge of persuading skeptical music fans to take another listen. When Billy Beard, who books the roots- and indie-flavored Lizard Lounge, told friends that he was bringing in The Click Five for four Saturdays in March, they asked him whether he was turning the club into an all-ages venue to draw The Click Five's young following. The answer is no, which begs the question: Who is going to come?

"There is a curiosity factor," says Beard, who believes the involvement of music producer Mike Denneen on the new album brings credibility to the project.

Denneen, cofounder of Q Division recording studios, has worked with such respected artists as Aimee Mann, Letters to Cleo, and Guster, and has been involved with The Click Five from the start.

"It's not that these guys couldn't have come up the normal way. They're immensely talented," says Denneen. "But let's be honest about what this was at the beginning: a commercial art project. Atlantic was unwilling to let them become a 'real' band, which is what the guys wanted. Now they're calling the shots and having the opportunity to do what most bands do at the beginning: play and write songs and develop. They need to swallow their pride and take their lumps and move on."

The Click Five began with a grand plan and made music to fit the bill; now they have music - still heavy on infectious power pop but dosed with a '70s rock edge and some quirkier dynamics - and nothing resembling a plan. They are pretty sure they can pull off the club dates, which include residencies - a series of weekly shows at the same venue - in New York and Philadelphia as well as Boston this month. Mentzer says they're actually excited about hitting the road in a van.

"I wish I could say some of it turned out differently, but the best way I can put it is I think we've grown into our shoes," says Mentzer. "We may never get people to come around and we're trying to be realistic about it. But we still have our aspirations and our hopes that people will say 'Maybe they weren't cool, but The Click Five has become a good band.' "

2008 is a lucky year to me.Lot of things happen and made changes in my life.I enjoyed it, except for the school life, i still hate school no matter what.

Before this i don't have computer and Internet service. At early July my dad gave me this PC as the reward of my major exam (PMR) last year because i got straight As :D

With the Internet, i made lot of friends from all over the world, get to know new bands on myspace.Without it, i couldn't blog here. It's amazinggggggggg!

I'm lucky because:

1. Went to The Click Five's concert on 7th June and made some friends. The concert was brilliant :)

2. Attended the national cheer leading competition 2008 on 13th and 14th July.There were 42 teams and my team, Calyx was the 14th place. well i'm satisfied with the result because we didn't make it to the top 15 on day 1. On day 2 we performed better :)

I feels the spirit again after watching it again.That was an awesome experience!

3. Went to MTV Asia Awards on 2nd August! Thanks to Sylvia for the tix :) Insane award show. I had a very good time even though we didn't sleep for the whole night and waited for the bands.Met the bands and got to say hi to them, grabbed some hugs,autograph and picture :D Wheeeeeee!

4. I didn't make it to Avril Lavigne's concert on 29th August and i was disappointed.But i went to "stalk" her before the concert. and guess what? I met her and asked an autograph! well, i asked for a picture but i couldn't get it. hey this is the best that she can give me. i never though that i can met her, face to face, spoke to her, and received a sweet smile from her!

5. Received an email from Cassie on 9th October. I become one of the blogger on The One Love! thanks to Cassie :)

Next year is my final year in high school.Gotta study hard and hopefully can get a scholarship that can help me study oversea. hopefully,yeah.

These things made my 2008 wonderful. and i believe we can make our 2009 better. Try your best to achieve what you want, do not give up easily.

This pop-rock power couple, also my favorite couple named their baby son Bronx Mowgli Wentz.He was born on 20 Nov 2008 and weighed 7 lbs., 11 oz., and was 20 1/2 inches long.

"Ashlee, Pete and baby Bronx are all healthy and happy, and thank everyone for their well wishes!" said the spokesperson.

Well, i got this news from FlyFM when the DJs talking about weird names.Many celebs named their kids with very unique way, some callers called in and shared the funny names they've heard, and that lmao! There's a person named Tiang Lam Poo ( Tiang lampu) can you believe that?

One of the DJs said there's a girl named Happy, and he said: can you believe when she introduce herself "Hi, I'm Happy". LOL x)

The Click Five has started their recording on Monday!! Wheeee can't wait for the record! Ben posted three video diary on The One Love and also facebook. Man it lmao!

This is my favorite video among all.Joey was dancing with Frank C! and they all were super funny! even though Joe was cool,still,i still laughing at him! his action reminded me of him at the MAA's. he was like that at the awards show too! how cute x]

I love my previous layout which is The Click Five, but i can't stand its limited space! so i picked a new layout, and spent 3 hours to edit it until it's satisfied. haha

The theme is Avril Lavigne,i love her picture! but this blog seems like more about The Click Five right? LOL xD I really love this new look,hope y'all will like it too.

Currently I'm having another 1 week holidays, and I'm blogging on The One Love at the same time.This blog is for me to share about The Click Five, I can't live without my lovely blog! (ok i know i still can live,lmao)

It's The One Love's birthday people! Happy 1st Birthday =] I'm not sure about the exactly date though, is it on 5th Oct?Well, if you don't know The One Love yet, here is the history :

The Click Five made my day again! Today is a day full with them,haha!Watched MAA and Taking 5.Okay i know many of you have watched it for million or billion time,but this is the first time I watched it. Laughing at the boys when watching MAA's.You can see them sitting at their seat x]

I was laughing hella hard to Taking 5.It was so funny of course. And gosh, I also felt in love with 5 Leo Rise! LOL xD Joe,Ethan,Joey and Ben didn't change much.Joey is still hot there! I realized that Eric is charming for the first time!He is so sweet in the movie x]

After melting in front of the tv, logged into facebook.Guess what? Scooter aka Ben wrote on my wall! Wheeeee, for the second time =D Alright,i know you might have more than me.I went crazy and still excited.Oh ya! I created a group in facebook called "The Click Five Pump Us Up!" (Check it out and join now!) Joe from The Click Five joined it! Wheeeeeee....
